With a spinoff game and a live-service game on the way, Assassin's Creed is gearing up for its next trilogy, and it may already have its two main characters in Basim and Kassandra. Valhalla's Basim became an very influential character in the series and is set to get his own spinoff Assassin's Creed game with a possible release later this year. Assassin's Creed Odyssey featured Kassandra, its canonical protagonist, who used a piece of Eden to live until 2018, exploring the world and helping establish the Hidden Ones throughout time. Knowing the influence of these two on Assassin's Creed canon, it is possible that they may be the two main protagonists of the next trilogy.

Assassin'sCreed Valhallaended the newest trilogy with a bang, introducing Basim into the modern-day story and establishing him as a new possible protagonist. Odyssey introduced the Spartan warrior and assassin Kassandra to the series, granting her the Staff of Hermes — and with it, immortality. Valhalla's crossover stories DLC saw Kassandra's return to the series, where she has to uncover an Isu artifact with the help of Eivor.

Assassin's Creed reportedly has two major projects in development at the moment: a spinoff game about Valhalla's Basim and a live-service game codenamed Infinity. While there aren't many confirmed details about these two games just yet, it is safe to assume that Ubisoft has plans to continue the Assassin's Creed series in a future trilogy. Valhalla ended with a major cliffhanger for the modern-day story, placing the mind-controlled Basim as the story's new protagonist
