Warning: Spoilers for Superman & Lois season 2, episode 5
Superman & Lois season 2 is making it difficult for Bizarro to ever work as a villain in the Arrowverse again. Despite the fact that he has innocent blood on his hands, it looks like the character will be utilized as an anti-hero going forward. His days of being a foe of Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) may have already ended.
After emerging from the Smallville mines, Bizarro was positioned to be a major antagonist for the Arrowverse spinoff series. A shocking reveal confirmed that the mirror version of Superman was responsible for all the chaos going on underground. Later, Bizarro killed two members of Anderson’s young metahuman team and landed Steel (Wolé Parks) in the hospital. For good reason, beating Bizarro has been Clark’s top priority. Things took a turn in Superman & Lois season 2, episode 5, titled “Girl…You’ll Be A Woman Soon” when it was confirmed that the show’s Bizarro and Ally Allston stories are intertwined. According to Bizarro, he’s on a mission to save his world (and Earth-Prime) from Ally.

Bizarro’s explanation didn’t absolve him of his previous actions, which means that he could still end up at odds with Superman at some point or another in the series. Since Bizarro isn’t a hero in the same vein as John Henry Irons, there is room for more conflict between them (even if they do team up against Ally). That being said, how their last fight ended makes Bizarro returning as a villain unlikely. The character losing so easily to Superman shows that he isn’t the challenging adversary he was in their first few battles.
