The highly rated co-op adventure that is Sea of Thieves has arrived on PS5, marking developer Rare's first ever release on PlayStation platforms, if you can believe it. The game first launched for Xbox One and PC back in 2018, and it's been heavily updated over the years, to the point where it's managed to maintain a very healthy community.
As you can probably tell by our Sea of Thieves PS5 review, we're big fans. «Sea of Thieves is a blast when playing with friends. With its focus on cosmetic customisation, we slipped into the pirate’s life with ease – even after six years of updates and seasonal changes,» we wrote.
We concluded: «It might not have the same level of grind that a lot of players look for in a live service game, but there’s endless pirate fun to be had here, and we’re glad that PlayStation players finally have the opportunity to join in on the swashbuckling chaos.» An 'excellent' 9/10.
It's a pirate's life for us
But are you braving the ocean waves in Sea of Thieves, now that it's on PS5? Vote in our poll, and then feel free to recruit some crewmates in the comments section below.
Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, he's played 'em all — a little too much, some might say.
Nope, not planning on it.
Way too busy with other games but I'm sure I'll give it a go in the future. Gotta see what all the fuss is aboot.
Sand Land, Stellar Blade, Dragon's Dogma 2 and Fallout 4 (PS5) are taking up my entire life at the moment
