For the fourth time in Archie Comics’ history of more than 80 years, the publisher has a new editor-in-chief. After being with the company for 22 years, Mike Pellerito is taking on the position previously held by the late Victor Gorelick, who passed away in February 2020.
Archie Comics is among the longest running mainstream comic book publishers, known for titles such as Archie Comics, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Josie and the Pussycats, and several others. In recent years, the publisher has seen a lot of change in terms of content and general perception. With Mark Waid’s take on Archie, The CW’s Riverdale, Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and horror comics like Afterlife With Archie, the publisher has crossed over into ambitious new territory that has connected with modern readers.

Mike Pellerito is now taking on the role of editor-in-chief for Archie Comics. Archie Comics staff nearly retired the title following the death of Victor Gorelick, who had been with the publisher for 60 years. As editor-in-chief, Pellerito is in charge of the Archie digest, reprinted stories, and new comics in the same classic style. However, senior director of editorial, Jamie. L. Rotante is said to still be in charge of Archie comics set in modern times, which have largely redefined the brand in pop culture.
Pellerito is also a co-owner of Aw Yeah Comics located in Harrison, New York.
