If there was one thing that Apex needed, it was another Gibraltar. I’m being sarcastic, and likely a little unfair to the latest addition to the games. As the newest character to join the ever-increasing roster in Apex Legends, Newcastle’s abilities are a mashup of Gibby and Lifeline (remember her?), and he looks set to fill a unique, niche role in the game.
There’s also the added lore that comes with Newcastle’s arrival. If you don’t care about his familial relations, skip down a paragraph, but as Bangalore’s long-lost brother, he’s sure to shake things up. The gang from his Stories From the Outlands trailer, the Forgotten Families, are sure to have an impact too; what relevance do they have to Silva Pharmaceuticals or the Syndicate? I personally think the gang leader from this episode will be join Apex Legends in the future – that micro pistol he whipped out is an ability if I ever saw one – but that’s pure speculation on my part.

Speaking of abilities, let’s get to the good stuff. Newcastle has the best parts of Lifeline and Gibraltar – or rather, the nerfed parts of Lifeline and the best parts of Gibby – and we’ll go through it all for you here. Firstly, here’s his abilities in full:
Passive - Retrieve the Wounded
Using his wrist-mounted Revive Shield, Newcastle can protect himself and his companion from incoming fire while he revives and pulls his ally to safety. The Revive Shield is powered by Newcastle's own Knockdown Shield, so finding higher levels of this item increases the strength of this ability.
