AI has long been a science fiction staple and has been explored quite heavily over the years. The focus is usually on what could happen if it ever decided to go rogue or decided that it didn’t need its creators anymore though, with less…apocalyptic works like Observation being all too few in number. Thankfully though, player looking to explore AI from a more personal angle will get another chance when Annie and the AI launches for Steam on May 23.
Annie and the AI puts players of a newly awoken AI dubbed “Esme” by Annie, its creator. At first they’ll focus on growing Esme’s intelligence by helping it solve puzzles and telling it about the world, but the AI’s interest eventually focuses on its creator. Why did Annie create Esme, and can it really become capable of fulfilling that purpose? Perhaps, but then an AI is only as good as its creator enables it to be, right? Check out the most recent trailer below for a look at what all this entails.
