Family Guy has been the subject of several memes for many years. The acclaimed television series, which first aired in January 1999, has endured as one of the few canceled TV shows that was later revived, escaping cancelation in 2005 due to increasing home video sales, which has allowed the series to continue on, with the show currently in the middle of its 20th season.

MacFarlane has also gone onto create other shows such as American Dad and The Orville, and directed a handful of feature films, such as the comedy Ted, which itself is now being made into a series for Peacock.
