After releasing in March 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizons quickly became one of the best-selling games on the Nintendo Switch. While there were many reasons for its success, one significant factor was the massive number of villagers included in the game. Among the animal residents, one of the more intriguing was Bob.
Appearing in every Animal Crossing game, Bob is the first villager designed for the series. He is a lavender cat sporting dark purple spots on his body. In addition to his recognizable appearance, he is known for his lazy personality. Recently, one talented gamer decided to recreate the character in real life.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as ConstanzaL shared a picture of a villager from Animal Crossing: New Horizons that they recently crocheted. In the image, it was revealed that the creator had decided to reimagine what Bob, the lazy cat, would like as a crochet doll. Impressively, the doll had the same distinctive lavender color with triangular ears as the cat seen in the game. In addition, the artist gave the villager a pink shirt with flowers on the front. Finishing off the design, they even gave Bob the same classic expression often seen from the character in the games.
Besides showing off the artwork in a picture, ConstanzaL provided some details about the process of crafting the crochet doll. According to the Reddit user, they created their own pattern for the design and used Poly-fil to stuff the inside of the doll. In addition, they revealed the eyes and mouth of the cat were needle felted. When all was said and done, it took 3 days for them to complete the project.
