Players can ensure all 10 of their island residents are squirrels in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but they will need to spend some time and effort finding them. Players who are starting a new island will have a much easier time filling every home with squirrel villagers, but those that already have an island established can still swap out their residents. Before players can start searching for squirrels, they'll need to earn Nook Miles or purchase Amiibo cards.
Players will receive Nook Miles for almost any activity they complete, from picking weeds to catching new bugs or fish. There are long-term tasks and daily activities that players can complete to earn Nook Miles in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Nook Miles can be tracked using the app on the player's in-game phone. Once players have 2,000 Nook Miles, they'll be able to purchase a Nook Miles Ticket to visit a deserted island. If players are starting a new island, they can earn free Nook Miles Tickets by upgrading their tent to a house and upgrading the Resident Services building.

It's likely that players will need to visit a large number of deserted islands to find 10 squirrels to invite to be residents. There's no way to guarantee which villager will be walking around a deserted island, so players will have to keep trying until they come across a squirrel they want to invite. Alternatively, players can use Amiibo cards to invite a villager to their campsite and ask them to be a resident from there, or simply wait for a squirrel to visit the campsite randomly. Players that already have a full island will need to complete a few extra steps to get all squirrel villagers.
