The Seven Deadly Sins is a manga series that has been a popular property since its release in 2014. The show has been a particular standout on Netflix, being one of the most searched anime on the service. With a series as popular as this, it's no surprise there would be a variety of video game adaptations of the source material. Some of these are straight retellings ofThe Seven Deadly Sins anime, such as with Bandai Namco's The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia on the PS4, while others are much like mobile game The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross.
A new game based on The Seven Deadly Sins has been revealed by Korean game studio Netmarble, who are also the developers of the aforementioned Grand Cross. Known as The Seven Deadly Sins Origin, it will be a sequel to Netmarble's mobile title, where instead of it being limited to a turn-based RPG, it will be expanded to a large overworld that players can explore, as well as a new protagonist.

The game will feature an open-world that features a number of playable characters from the manga and anime, including some of the main characters from The Seven Deadly Sins. The trailer features playable versions of Meliodas, Merlin, Diane, and Elizabeth. Much like other open-world games like Genshin Impact or Breath of the Wild, the environments are varied and quite colorful, matching its anime aesthetic. This can be seen as Meliodas runs through a field while its raining, or dives underwater to find hidden treasure.
