Sony has continued to enjoy plenty of success with its PC ports of first party PlayStation titles, and it’s obviously no surprise to anyone that the company plans to keep that going with future releases. As it stands right now, there isn’t much official information out there on which of PlayStation’s back catalog titles will be next in line to launch on PC- though it seems whatever is next will be here before too long.
That’s as per prominent insider The Snitch, who recently claimed on his Discord channel (via Reddit) that Sony has an unannounced PC port of a AAA first party PlayStation exclusive in the pipeline. The game is allegedly due out in July, and interestingly enough, was expected to be announced at the recent PlayStation Showcase, though ended up being one of several games that were ready to be shown but didn’t make the cut.
As for what that game could be, that remains to be seen. PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan recently said that Sony wants to wait at least a couple of years before bringing its single player PlayStation exclusives to PC (with live services launching simultaneously for both), so that probably rules out the likes of Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War Ragnarok. Titles such as Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Demon’s Souls, The Last of Us Part 2, and Ghost of Tsushima, however, might be prime candidates for PC releases in the near future.
Of course, this also begs the question when this unannounced PC port will be announced. Summer Game Fest is set for July 8, and Sony unveiled The Last of Us Part 1 there last year, so that might serve as an appropriate setting for the announcement.
