The popular streamer and content creator Amouranth recently purchased almost $2 million worth of stock in the game developer Activision Blizzard. This comes in the wake of numerous claims concerning workplace abuse and misconduct at the company in addition to several ongoing legal disputes.
Amouranth has made the news in recent months for the acquisition of several properties and a couple of businesses including a pool toy company. The streamer frequently details the reasoning behind these purchases on Twitter.

Amouranth said that investing in the company just made good business sense. Activision Blizzard is currently being acquired by Microsoft in a deal worth just under $69 billion.
“As for Activision Blizzard, this is near Berkshire price,” Amouranth noted on Twitter. “Good intellectual property, domestic, world where globalization is waning.” The streamer added that “to be clear, I am looking to capture the takeover spread. That’s the main point. I just think it’s not a bad price even if that fails to happen.”
Amouranth seems to have hedged their bets. In other words, the streamer stands to gain whether the deal actually goes through or not. Stock prices are expected to increase after the acquisition by Microsoft and Activision Blizzard will receive $3 billion worth of indemnities if the purchase falls through. “Bought almost $2,000,000 in Activision Blizzard,” the content creator explained on Twitter. “Roughly a 20% ‘uncorrelated’ return if the Microsoft deal goes through.”
