Activision Blizzard Employees to Stage Walkout Following Vaccine Mandate Change
Activision Blizzard has been making the headlines over the past few months for reasons that range from neutral to outright negative, and the company's latest endeavor isn't scoring them any sympathy points, either. This time, though, it's not about new allegations of abuse, at the very least.
Namely, Activision Blizzard has just announced that it would not be enforcing its employees' vaccination status once staff begins to return to the office, in June. As a result, a number of Activision Blizzard staff will walk out of work on Monday to protest these changes in policy, as they don't seem to be in accordance with what was previously decided.

Activision-Blizzard-King Workers Alliance's representatives stated that staff agreed to come back to the offices only after Activision Blizzard promised to mandate vaccination, which it walked back on. According to Jason Schrier, the company did end up relenting to ABK's pressure, and the president, Mike Ybarra, announced that the company would require vaccinations for the next couple of months at the very least.
The issue remains, however, as ABK claims that Activision Blizzard removing COVID-19 vaccination requirements was the opposite of what was agreed upon, and the workers' walk-out on April 4th may still take place. ABK's demands are that Activision Blizzard needs to renege its current trajectory and enforce vaccination mandates for the foreseeable future, as well as offer remote work setups to allow workers to decide whether they should come back to the office or not.
