AMD has launched its Ryzen 5 7600X3D CPU as a Microcenter-exclusive 3D V-Cache product which is priced at $299 US.
Last year, AMD introduced the Ryzen 5 5600X3D, the only 6-Core 3D-Cache option for $229 US. The chip was exclusive to microcenter retail outlets based in the US. We found this chip to be excellent for budget gamers in our reviews but being limited to one retailer meant that only a small portion of users can get their hands on the chip.
AMD has now launched its second Microcenter-exclusive CPU, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D which is also a 6-core offering based on the Zen 4 core architecture and boosted by 3D V-Cache. In terms of specs, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D features 6 cores and 12 threads along with 32 MB of L3 cache and 64 MB of stacked 3D V-Cache. This gives us a total of 96 MB of L3 cache on the chip. In terms of clock speeds, the CPU operates at a base frequency of 4.1 GHz and a boost frequency of up to 4.7 GHz.
Just like the rest of the AMD Ryzen 7000X3D chips, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D features PBO (Precision Boost Overdrive) and CO (Curve Optimizer) support, up to 24 PCIe Gen 5.0 lanes and supports the standard DDR5-5200 memory speeds at the native spec and higher with EXPO with capacities of up to 128 GB.
The CPU also comes with a 65W TDP which makes it a very efficient gaming option that would work nicely with almost any AM5 motherboard, even the entry-level A620 designs. The CPU will get both separate and bundled released with one such configuration already listed for $449.99 US, packing an ASUS TUF Gaming B650-PLUS WiFi motherboard and 32 GB of DDR5-6000 memory. Microcenter and AMD showcase savings of $182 US through this specific bundle, making it a good choice for builders.
It should be pointed out that Microcenter is also
