Universal Pictures Home Entertainment sets an official Ambulance Blu-ray release date. The Los Angeles-set action thriller film is directed by Michael Bay, an action-genre veteran and the creative behind such past films as Transformers and Armageddon. His latest movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as two brothers who attempt a desperate bank robbery that quickly goes wrong, and forces them to hijack an ambulance with a wounded cop and a paramedic (played by Eiza González) inside.
Now, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment reveals that Ambulance will be available to own via Digital on May 23, 2022, and via 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on June 14, 2022. These versions come with several bonus features, including interviews with the cast, behind-the-scenes information on how Bay crafts car-chase scenes, and how the stunning aerial images in Ambulance were captured. Content included exclusively with 4K Ultra HD and Blu-Ray showcase how the cast developed a deeper respect for first responders, and what drew each of them to the film.

Fans of the film who want even more context to how it was made will have plenty of added content to watch should they purchase it. Ambulance reviews were generally positive, but it remains to be seen how a home video release will help raise its profits. The film only grossed $51 million worldwide against a $40 million budget, so the filmmakers will surely be hoping for a nice boost from Ambulance Blu-ray sales.
