A massively popular series of video games based on an equally popular collection of tabletop games, the Warhammer IP has quite a few spin-offs to its name. Most Warhammer games boast real-time strategy gameplay reminiscent of the franchise’s tabletop roots, but the spinoffs occasionally dabble into other genres. Although the franchise has seen plenty of shooters throughout the years, it has rarely delved into the world of side-scrolling run-and-gun games. Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef, a bombastic new title that Games Workshop revealed more information on during today’s Warhammer Skulls 2022 event, plans to do exactly this. The company specifically announced that Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef will see a release on October 20.
This explosive new game tasks players with controlling the merciless Orks as they wreak havoc throughout the Luteus Prime city area. Along the way, they will lay waste to humans, Genestealer cultists, and other Orks, all in an effort to “recover [their] luscious hair squig from the hands of the Warboss Gutrekka.”
As for the gameplay itself, players will have around 20 weapons to mess around with. And they can cause untold carnage either by themselves or with up to three friends. Additionally, players can choose from one of four unique Orks, which not only provide some visual variety but also come with their own skills that make sense within Warhammer 40,000‘s lore. For those who want more Ork action outside of the main campaign, the game includes a local and online PvP mode that, once again, supports up to four players.
