The first three Child’s Play movies will be getting a 4K Blu-ray DVD release. The Child’s Play trilogy began in 1988 when the first film was released, introducing the world to a demonic doll named Chucky. The original horror trilogy has bred countless spinoffs, including Bride of Chuckyin 1988, Curse of Chucky in 2013, and the recent Syfy channel TV showChucky, created by original Child’s Play creator Don Mancini.
Now, the first three Child’s Play films are getting attention once more with a 4K Blu-Ray release of the original movie trilogy. According to Scream Factory, the DVDs available will include all three original films from the trilogy: 1998's Child’s Play from director Tom Holland, 1990's Child’s Play 2 fromJohn Lafia, and 1991's Child’s Play 3 helmed by Jack Bender. The DVDs will be released on August 16th. The Child’s Play films will be available to purchase on their own, or as part of a Shout Factory site-exclusive bundle that features other Chucky-related merchandiise. The merch includes pins, posters, exclusive slipcovers, and a special charred Chucky action figure made by NECA Toys, a popular toy company. All of the products are currently available for pre-order on the Shout Factory website.
