Amazing new Gmail feature lets you disable phone notifications from desktop!

Google email service is reportedly undergoing a makeover that will bring several new features. With this new Gmail feature, users will be given an option to pause notification on their smartphones when they are active on the desktop. Apart from this, Google is likely to introduce some more features very soon. As of now, Gmail settings menu does not have any option to manually disable the pause notifications feature or enable notifications the same when it is activated.

According to a report shared by 9to5 Google, Gmail users can see a new option to pause notifications for mobile while they are active on the desktop. It must be noted that the tech giant has not publicly documented this feature on its support pages but the same was active in a test account.

You can pause Gmail mobile notifications while you’re using the desktop by allowing your browser to detect if you’re active or away. Further, you can simply click continue and allow them when prompted by your browser. Upon clicking on the continue option, a prompt pops up asking for permission to “know when you’re actively using this device.” Once you confirm, the feature gets active.

A few weeks back, the tech giant announced the redesign of its Gmail web version last month. Google has already started to roll out the overhauled Gmail to personal accounts. Dubbed as “new integrated view,” the new layout will have dedicated tabs for Google’s popular services like Chat, Spaces, and Meet to a new side-menu. This will help users to seamlessly switch between different apps right from their Gmail accounts.
