At the end of , Peter Parker seemingly passes the mantle to Miles, letting him take over the role of the primary Spider-Man in New York. However, that doesn't mean that he is the only Spider-Man in the city, and there is evidence that he will not be the only one in the next game. In fact, I believe that that will be far from the truth, and there will be more than just 2 Spider-heroes roaming New York in the sequel.
While Miles and Peter have starred in the past games, the roster of Spider-heroes is long and wide. Spider-Man's rogues gallery is just as deep, so sometimes it takes more than one hero to win the day. This can be seen in each of the past games. Even in the first game, Peter needed Miles and MJ's help to win, Miles got help from a number of people in his solo game, and both of them were needed in the last game. It's thinkable, then, that Miles will likely have a team-up in the next game.
In a recent interview for, actor Yuri Lowenthal confirmed that he is returning as Peter Parker and will not be sitting on the sidelines the whole time. While he might be focusing on the concerns for the Foundation, he hasn't lost his super-human abilities or his drive to help people as best he can. And, with Harry's condition growing worse, it's unlikely that he wouldn't step in as Spider-Man if it came down to it, particularly if the scene with Norman Osborne has some payoff.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 teased an awesome gameplay feature but didn't follow through with it. I'm still waiting for Insomniac to give us more.
While we haven't seen Green Goblin just yet, Norman referenced the G-serum, and Harry is left in a precarious position at the end of the game. It's likely that we see the emergence of the Green Goblin from one of them before the end of the game, sooner rather than later, and I would be shocked if this doesn't pull Peter back into Spider-Man duty. It's his best friend, and actions that have him or his father running around as a terrifying green monster will make
