Hulu is back with another Sally Rooney adaptation, this time tackling her debut novel in the new miniseries Conversations With Friends. The 12-episode show premieres through the streaming platform on May 13, only a few short years after Normal People received rave reviews from fans and critics alike. The story follows college student Frances (newcomer Alison Oliver) and her best friend Bobbi (Sasha Lane, Loki), who get involved in a tangled web of love and friendship with a married couple.
Melissa (Jemima Kirke, Sex Education) and Nick (Joe Alwyn, The Last Letter from Your Lover) befriend the college girls, a situation which quickly leads to Frances and Nick having an affair. The relationship has startling effects for all four members of the quarter, and opens up several questions about the nature of relationships and the importance of honesty when approaching them.
