Big news for Mobile users! Mobile subscribers who are waiting for the roll out of 5G services, will be happy to know that two of the biggest telecom service providers in India - Airtel and Reliance Jio - have already started rolling out the 5G services from October 1, 2022. In the first phase only a few cities got to access the 5G network. With the new 5G services rolling out, users will be able to access faster internet speeds, better network penetration, more stable connection, ultra-high definition 4K video viewing and much more.
Several smartphone companies have also introduced 5G enabled phones. There are a number of phones ranging from affordable segment to premium segment like Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 5G, Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+ & S22 Ultra, iPhone 13 Pro Max and many others. Most of these phones already specify whether they support 5G or not. But If you are confused about whether your phone supports the 5G network or not, you can check the same by following these simple and easy steps on your Android phone or iPhone.
First, head to the Settings on your Android smartphone or iPhone.
There, go to the ‘Wi-Fi and Network’ options. In some phones it may be ‘Network and Internet’ or just ‘Network’.
Next, tap on ‘SIMs’ or ‘SIM and Network’ option.
Scroll down the page and then click on ‘Preferred network type’ option.
If your smartphone supports the 5G network, you will see the 5G option along with 4G and 3G. However, if it’s not, the 5G option will not be there and this means your phone will not work with 5G leaving you with no option but to buy a 5G-enabled smartphone.
