For many, Twitch is an entertaining platform where viewers can watch their favorite personalities stream games or just chat with their fans. However, with Twitch being a livestreaming service, things can go wrong, especially for popular streamers on the platform. This can lead to extreme cases of some viewers calling in a swat raid on a certain streamer, which can sometimes lead to the scary scenario of a personality's live feed being interrupted by angry, armed police. Recently, YouTube streamer iShowSpeed was swatted, with the teenager even being handcuffed on camera.
Adin Ross is the latest big Twitch personality to join the roster of streamers who have been swatted. Ross has not had the best history with Twitch, being indefinitely banned from the platform back in April for alleged use of hateful slurs or symbols in his streams. However, as of June this year, Adin Ross returned to Twitch and has seen a boom in viewership since then. This latest swatting case marks another concerning event for the popular streamer, with him coming dangerously close to arrest.
Twitch Unbans Adin Ross
In a clip from Adin Ross' Twitch stream, viewers can see that the streamer isn't present within the view of his webcam, but soon a police officer wielding a pistol walks into frame. A few more armed officers then follow, appearing to search the house for something. Finally, Ross returns to his desk to announce that he is ending the stream. He then appears to speak to his viewership, saying, «Whatever troll did it, you did it.»
As Ross is smiling while he calls out the troll who swatted him, it seems as though he isn't too shaken up by the appearance of armed police at his house. He also states that «it's never happening again,» presumably
