Popular YouTube content creator Darren «IShowSpeed» Watkins Jr. is often embroiled in controversy, with some of his actions resulting in a Twitch ban in the past. During a recent YouTube livestream, IShowSpeed was swatted and handcuffed before being taken away, but the successful Twitch streamer Adin Ross has allegedly bailed him out.
IShowSpeed was swatted during a broadcast on his YouTube channel on August 8 that resulted in his arrest, the day after popular Twitch streamer Adin Ross had a swatting of his own during one of his livestreams. The two streamers aren't the only ones to have been swatted before a live audience, with others including Hasan Piker, Drift0r, HeyItsMeSalty, Keffals, Nate Hill, and more. Given that swatting has notably resulted in the death of at least one person, the severity of the situation is often addressed by streamers like IShowSpeed and Adin Ross who are united in suffering the same issue back-to-back.
Twitch Has Banned IShowSpeed for Disturbing Comments
Similar to IShowSpeed's recent livestream, Adin Ross fans were able to see law enforcement with guns drawn during the Twitch streamer's August 7 broadcast as he complied and the situation was defused as other swattings have been. Ross may have been touched by the event as he willingly paid IShowSpeed's sizable $20,000 bail and assured the YouTuber's community that he was «doing good» before IShowSpeed was able to return to streaming after the abrupt end to his August 8 show. According to IShowSpeed, Ross was able to wire the full amount of bail to the «confederation of the department» he was in which set the YouTube content creator free.
