Adam Sandler's new Netflix basketball movie Hustle left him with a horrible groin injury that is still lingering almost a year after filming. The upcoming sports drama follows the celebrated comic as a former basketball scout who attempts to revitalize his career by recruiting an overseas player with a troubled past to play in the NBA. That player is played by the real-life Spanish big man for the Utah Jazz Juancho Hernangómez, who will be making his acting debut.
Sandler leads the Hustle cast as Stanley Sugarman alongside Hernangómez as Bo Cruz. Queen Latifah stars as Stanley's wife Teresa, Ben Foster as his boss, María Botto as Bo's mother Paola, and Robert Duvall in an undisclosed role. Development of the sports movie was first announced in 2020 when Sandler signed on to star with NBA superstar LeBron James producing and Jeremiah Zagar directing from a screenplay by Taylor Materne and Will Fetters. Later that year, filming began on location in various parts of Philadelphia and surrounding areas.
