The list of injuries in AEW continues to grow, as it is being reported that Adam Cole suffered a concussion during the IWGP Heavyweight Championship match at Forbidden Door. He was involved in the fatal four-way for the prestigious title, but something seemed to go sideways during the finish of the match.
Cole hadn't wrestled since Double Or Nothing, and several weeks ago it was reported that AEW was allowing Cole some time to rest up ahead of Forbidden Door. It wasn't clear exactly what he was dealing with, but his injury lead to Booker T's comments about Cole's body and a subsequent firestorm of pushback from seemingly all corners of the internet. Cole was still heavily involved in the build to the pay-per-view but didn't wrestle any matches during that time.

Cole squared off with Kazuchika Okada, Jay White, and Hangman Adam Page in one of the most anticipated matches on the Forbidden Door card. There were plenty of storylines hanging between all four men, and the match was delivering on its potential before White scrambled into the ring, and hit Okada with the Blade Runner before pinning a seemingly out-of-it Adam Cole. The finish felt out of nowhere and off since everyone involved knows how to build towards the crescendo of a three-count. Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer is now reporting that Cole "is believed to have suffered a concussion during tonight’s four-way IWGP World Heavyweight title match."
