Abyss Opens Signups for Playtesting and Puts Game on Steep Pre-order Sale
Abyss is taking signups for its next playtest and offering a steep discount on a pre-order, ahead of a target release for next spring.
The November playtest is taking signups now for those who want to see what the team is up to in their Unreal Engine 5 MMORPG. There are also a few recent updates ahead of when that next happens.
The new content additions have included populating some of the towns with decor and NPCs, and even adding player submitted maps. They've added animated loot systems and a series of new biomes and armor to complement those. These new biomes are Asian themed, Orc themed, and Troll themed, with armor sets to match. In a recent post over on X (Twitter), they shared that “Armored warriors will be represented by all races around the world. We are in the early stages of implementing Samurai, Youxiá, Sengbing, and other armored warriors from Asia.”

Aside from this, they’re continuing work on optimizing environments. This is where you might come in. They plan to invite a select number of players to the next test.
Abyss is also on sale for what they say is the lowest-ever price of about $10 for the base game, with regional pricing. The sale is on now, along with a couple of higher-tier preorder
