Aadhaar Authentication: How to verify Aadhaar card details
Aadhaar card is one of the important documents which act as a proof of identity and is needed almost everywhere for KYC purposes and to source govt services. From a newborn to a senior citizen, it is mandatory for every Indian resident to have an Aadhaar card. Since Aadhaar is used as a valid form of identification and proof of address, its authenticity must be verified by the organization where it is submitted as proof of identity. So, to ease the process of Aadhaar authentication, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has come up with an easy process to establish the veracity of Aadhaar. “Aadhaar Authentication” is a process by which the Aadhaar number as well as demographic details of person like name, date of birth, gender etc or biometric information i.e, Fingerprint or Iris are verified by submitted to UIDAI’s Central Identities Data Repository (CIDR). UIDAI verifies the authenticity of the details submitted or the information available with it.
The Age Band, Gender, State and last three digits of Mobile of an Aadhaar holder can be verified online by visiting https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/verifyAadhaar by feeding the Aadhaar number. However, in offline mode, users simply need to scan the QR code printed on Aadhaar card /Aadhaar letter/e Aadhaar. It contains demographic details like Name, Gender, Date of birth and address) as well as a photograph of the Aadhaar number holder.
