Nintendo has announced that a Nintendo Direct focused on the Super Mario move will be broadcast this week.
The presentation will be shown on October 6 at 1.05pm PT / 4.05pm ET / 9.05pm BST and will introduce the world premiere trailer for the upcoming film.
According to Nintendo, no game information will be featured in the Direct, and it will be solely focused on the film.
It appears that this is also the first time Nintendo has referred to the film as ‘The Super Mario Bros Movie’, suggesting this could be the film’s official title.
The New York Comic Con announced last month that a trailer for the movie would be shown on October 6 as part of the event, but it wasn’t clear when or how this would happen.
To date, nothing has been shown publicly about the movie, beyond the original casting announcement which famously revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt would play Mario.

While some have criticised the film for casting Pratt as the plumber, the co-producer of the film has publicly defended him, saying that he won’t be replicating the famous Italian accent.
After being approached by a reporter for toofab at LAX airport, Illumination co-founder and CEO Chris Meledandri was asked how Chris Pratt was going to pull off Mario’s voice.
