Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7 will be receiving PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in the future, and people who already own the games can upgrade for free. The Resident Evil series produced some visually stunning games in the previous console generation and fans were hoping that they would receive a current-gen port at some point.
Resident Evil Village received dedicated PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions, which show off the stunning locations in the game in greater detail. The versions of the other Resident Evil titles that can be played on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are still the old versions of the game that are running through backward compatibility, where they only benefit from the faster load times of the internal SSDs used by both systems.
