For those of you blissfully non-British, Storm Eunice is on one right now. As I write this, the winds are so strong that I'm lucky to have a roof. But as we all pray for the safety of our wheely bins, we've all been coming together for the strangest, but most oddly wholesome internet event of 2022 yet: 200,000 of us are watching planes land.
Big Jet TV, a YouTube channel dedicated to aircraft spotting, has seen a boom in viewers as thousands watch planes take off and land in Heathrow today, despite the storm. Host Jerry Dyer is live at the scene, capturing the rocky aircrafts in real time - and keeping his new viewers thoroughly entertained in the process.

British and Irish Twitter can't get enough of the live stream, commentating on it as if it's a football game. It turns out that a whole bunch of us are watching planes wobble a bit instead of working.
And in our defence, it's strangely captivating. Even when there's no action to be seen, Jerry carries the stream with his charisma. He's full of praise for the brave pilots embarking on journeys in today's storm, applauding their efforts as they somehow navigate the harsh conditions.
Even better, the guy got interviewed by Channel 4 news and live streamed the whole thing. After that wrapped up, he apologized for not being able to read out the name of his new supporters, which I don't think anyone can expect him to do with so many fans pouring in by the minute.
At the time of writing, Jerry's stream continues with over 210,000 viewers on the edge of their seats. I thoroughly recommend you join us below - at least if you're lucky enough to be working from home today.
