has a ton of main faction quests, sidequests, and activities players can partake in over the game's 1,000-planet universe. While many of these will be clearly detailed in the mission log, others happen somewhat randomly in the game. One of the main places these random interactions occur is while in space. However, these scenarios are easy to miss, especially for those not accepting incoming transmissions. While some are rather innocuous jokes — like a ship that repeatedly requests whether the protagonist wants to extend the ship's warranty — others have a little more substance and even side missions associated with them.
While some random space encounters are hard to come by, that's really what makes them so great and unique since there is no foolproof method to trigger the interactions, at least discovered so far. This adds some variety and flavor to the game, especially for those tired of looking at quick travel screens. Instead, one needs to explore the star systems across the in-game world of to come across some of these random space encounters.
