Reports indicate that two entries in the Zelda franchise, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, could be coming to the Nintendo Switch at some point later this year. Both games are fan favorites and widely viewed as classics.
The news comes from journalist Jeff Grubb who pointed out during the latest episode of his podcast, Jeff Grubb’s Game Mess, that a ported version of the two games might just be on the horizon for the Nintendo Switch. Rumors to the effect that Wind Waker and Twilight Princess could be coming to the platform have long been making the rounds, but Grubb is apparently confident that fans of the Zelda franchise have something to look forward to in the very near future.

Grubb said that Wind Waker and Twilight Princess could be released on the Nintendo Switch as a bundle. “They want to have a Zelda game every year and they’ve been holding onto this,” Grubb remarked. “Why wouldn’t they just put it out this year?” The journalist went on to say that “if they don’t put this out or some other Zelda thing this year, instead of just waiting for Breath of the Wild 2, I just will not understand.”
“I think that this game as much as it was a joke in the Megabit 64 video, I do believe will actually come out in October,” Grubb noted in reference to the bundle. “I suppose Zelda could come out in September maybe, but they already got some games in September, so October still sounds right to me.” The bundle in question could be similar to the recently released Super Mario 3D All Stars.
There currently are three mainline games in the Zelda franchise on the Nintendo Switch. These are of course The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Link’s Awakening, and Skyward Sword.
