Yu-Gi-Oh!'s biggest foray into the digital card game space is out today, as Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel has stealth launched on PC and console.
Although Konami never announced a specific date for the free-to-play game, it has suddenly appeared on Steam and console storefronts and can be downloaded right now. However, the servers do not yet appear to be switched on, so downloading is all you can do.

Master Duel is Yu-Gi-Oh!'s answer to Magic the Gathering Arena or Pokemon TCG Live. Instead of adapting the anime, as other Yu-Gi-Oh! games do, Master Duel is intended to be a faithful recreation of the TCG. With over 10,000 cards at launch and crossplay between all platforms, it's positioning itself as the primary way to play Yu-Gi-Oh digitally from now on.
It's also a lot more accessible for newcomers than games like Duel Links or Legacy of the Duelist, thanks to its single-player content and multiple tutorial modes. Yu-Gi-Oh! can be a very complex game to get into, even for veterans of other TCGs, and so this could be the most appealing way to start.
One of the most interesting aspects of Master Duel is its single-player story mode. Instead of retreading the story beats of the anime, Master Duel is going into the lore of the cards themselves and exploring the backstory of popular deck archetypes like Gem Knights, Monarchs, and Digi-bugs.
