Xbox's Games with Gold program has been in an odd place for some time now, as many believe it's going to be faded out eventually. Microsoft recently announced that Games with Gold will drop Xbox 360 games later this year, and that may be one step forward for it. After all, it doesn't seem fans are ever happy with the Xbox Games with Gold selection, and it's overshadowed by the constant updates to Xbox Game Pass.
Nonetheless, the Xbox Games with Gold program marches forward. Microsoft has officially unveiled four games coming in August to replace the Games with Gold currently available until July 31. Fans should make sure they are aware of the specific dates for how long each title will be available.

Calico is an interesting addition to Games with Gold, if specifically for its timing.Calico is a community simulation game where players are tasked with rebuilding the town's cat cafe, complete with adorable felines to boot. Players are able to add furniture and decorations, cook pastries, and get it bustling with animals. While the viral cat game Stray is exclusive to PS4/PS5 consoles, as well as PC, this ensures that Xbox fans can get a gree cat game too, if in a different vein.
ScourgeBringer is also another solid addition, especially for fans of NeuroVoider. From the same developer, ScourgeBringer is a fast-paced free-moving rogue-lite platform where players must face ancient machines and hopefully redeem humanity. The first Xbox 360 game is Saints Row 2, which has equally good timing.
