Xbox Game Pass users can claim a new strategy/action RPG today in the form of Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord. There are not many games that claim to both be a strategy game and an action RPG, but Mount and Blade 2 playthroughs manage to do just that, with each being different depending on how players decide to tackle the obstacles.
In Mount and Blade 2, players can create a character to explore, raid, and conquer; to engage in diplomacy and conduct trades; and to raise armies, through a variety of means, and fight alongside those troops in real-time battles. Mount and Blade 2 promises an intuitive skill-based combat system that should satisfy those checking it out on Xbox Game Pass today.

Mount and Blade 2 is available on every platform under the Xbox Game Pass banner, including Cloud, Console, and PC. What Game Pass users will want to remain aware of is that the PC version of the game seems to be the best, which is common with strategy games. On Steam, it has a 169K 'Very Positive' reviews, but the console MetaCritic and OpenCritic versions trend downward from there. That's not to say its reviews on consoles are bad, as they are in the 70-80 range, but the PC version may be the definitive way to play.
Of course, more is to come this week and beyond. Xbox Game Pass currently has four other games confirmed for February 2023, those being Cities: Skylines Remastered, Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition, and Atomic Heart.
