May 2022 has proven to be a big month for Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription service, with new day one titles added to it on a regular basis. Earlier this week, Xbox Game Pass was treated to two day one games in the form of Floppy Knights on PC, cloud, and console, and Hardspace: Shipbreaker on PC. Now yet another day one game has been added to Xbox Game Pass, and it's one that's been getting great reviews.
The latest day one game added to Xbox Game Pass is none other than Sniper Elite 5. Sniper Elite 5 is a World War 2 game that, as its title suggests, is primarily focused on sniping enemies from afar. Sniper Elite 5 retains the features that have made the series popular to begin with, like the x-ray camera for long-range sniper kills, and has so far proven to be one of the most well-reviewed games in the series.

At the time of this writing, Sniper Elite 5 has an impressive 80 overall review average from 45 critics, according to review aggregate site OpenCritic. By comparison, Sniper Elite 4 had a 78 average rating, while Sniper Elite 3 only had a 70 rating. This makes Sniper Elite 5 the highest-rated game in the series to date, though there's still time for its score to go up or down as more reviews are published.
Regardless, Sniper Elite 5 seems to be a solid new addition to the Xbox Game Pass lineup, especially for third-person shooter fans. And the thing is, it's not even the last day one game coming to Xbox Game Pass in May 2022. Another day one game will be added to the Xbox Game Pass lineup before the month is out, with two more games in total coming to Xbox Game Pass on Friday, May 27.
