Xbox and Bethesda will move forward with their regular joint showcase on June 12 at 1 p.m. ET in spite of E3’s cancellation. This is the standard operating procedure at this point for the publisher, as Microsoft had separated itself from the popular gaming convention in the years before the global pandemic put the nail in its coffin.
In the past, Xbox’s showcase has been the place to see the reveals of its biggest in-development titles and what is coming to Game Pass, and 2021 saw mega-publisher Bethesda join in after becoming a subsidiary of Microsoft’s gaming division. One can expect fewer reveals this time around simply due to the number of titles that are already waiting in the wings. With games like , , and existing currently as teaser trailers that barely explain themselves, this year could be the time to expand on what Xbox gamers can expect from the first-party publishing wing of the platform.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that Xbox’s plans have changed drastically in the years since those teasers made their debut. Behind-the-scenes talk about games like Rare’s and the reboot have been less than promising, and the company has an unfortunate habit of canceling announced titles that it’s still trying to shake off.
