Right now, Xbox is running a backward compatibility sale for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X console family for select Call of Duty games. For those that are looking to dive back into the lost era of Call of Duty, simpler times pre-Call of Duty Ghosts, this is the best chance to dive back into the classics in a while.
Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Add New Attack on Titan Content
As pointed out by PureXbox, the sale offers heavy discounts on many of the early Call of Duty games, like Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 3, through to mid-series entries. The most recently released offering is 2012's Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, which some fans cite as the best in the long-running franchise. Of course, every fan has their own opinion, though the sale does offer a decent spread of games.
Discounts range from 30% on Modern Warfare 2 DLC to as high as 70% off for Black Ops 2. Do keep in mind that not all the games will have highly active player bases, so it's wise to think of the purchase as an investment in the campaign for each entry rather than the multiplayer. That being said, particularly popular entries like Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops 2 have managed to maintain enough players to at least find matches in game modes like Team Deathmatch.
