Fortnite players will soon get the chance to enjoy some Doctor Who-themed content courtesy of the BBC. The world-famous free-to-play battle royale game has seen its fair share of collaborations with IPs from companies like Marvel, with recent leaks hinting at an upcoming Fortnite Dr. Strange skin, but it has yet to feature any Doctor Who content.
Updates, enhancements, and content drops for Fortnite don't appear to be slowing down, even as the live-service game approaches its fifth birthday. Notable recent additions to the game include skins of Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak, alongside a new map and additional gameplay features such as Spider-Man's web-shooters. This bevy of novel content is bolstered by the game's creative mode, which lets players craft their own maps and activities similar to other popular video games like Minecraft and Roblox. This extraneous game mode is regularly polished and improved alongside the Battle Royale and co-op Save the World modes, and has been used by gamers to craft impressive replicas of fictional locations like Cyberpunk 2077's Night City in Fortnite.

It looks like this mode is now being leveraged by the BBC to bring Doctor Who content to Fortnite. As noticed by Eurogamer, the BBC Studios Press Office Twitter account recently announced that a separate map themed after the long-running British television series will be coming to the game, though it is not the result of any sort of partnership between the BBC and Epic Games.
