Xbox Apparently Wants Gamers to Go Outside
The Xbox Gear Shop has been around for a while now, providing gamers with a great place to find a range of Xbox-related clothing and accessories. Everything from coffee mugs to action figures to playing cards, as well as hoodies, socks, and tank tops can be found there, sometimes even for reasonable prices. These items might be Xbox themed or based on popular franchises like Halo, Psychonauts 2, or even specific developers like Obsidian Entertainment.
On a regular basis, the Xbox Gear Shop releases collections centered around a particular theme as well. For example, the site’s current Heritage Collection aims right at gamers’ nostalgia with clothing featuring the original Xbox logo and the iconic box art from 2001’s Halo: Combat Evolved. The fact that the OG Halo t-shirt and hoodie are sold out shows that the site successfully targets many gamers and offers what they find appealing.

The Xbox Gear Shop recently launched a new assortment of clothing and accessories called the Xbox Camper Collection, which seems aimed at the outdoorsman secretly lurking within the average video game player. This perhaps seems an odd choice, given that gamers are stereotyped as rarely seeing the sun or getting exercise, supposedly preferring to sit on a chip-encrusted couch, controller in hand. That said, much of the gear in the Xbox Camper Collection seems to serve more of an aesthetic purpose than a practical one.
The collection consists of the tees, shorts, and hoodies that can usually be found in video game related clothing, but also some truly camper-themed gear like a Nalgene water bottle, nylon windbreaker, utility vest, and even a folding chair and hammock.
