The first episode of What We Do in the Shadows season 4 begins with a twist that completely changes the series: Guillermo has moved on from Nandor and now has a partner. The recently Emmy-nominated FX mockumentary premiered the first two episodes of its fourth season on Tuesday. WWDITS follows the antics of four vampire roommates—Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nandor (Kayvan Novak), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch)—living in Staten Island with a human familiar, Guillermo (Harvey Guillén).

In WWDITS seasons 2 and 3, Guillermo comes into his Van Helsing heritage as a skilled vampire slayer, protecting his housemates from undead intruders, and learns to advocate for better work conditions under Nandor. Nandor gradually comes to see Guillermo as a friend and trusted companion, and season 3 ends with the former inviting the latter on an intimate, ambiguously romantic journey around the world.
