Tailoring is a primary crafting profession in World of Warcraft. It largely involves creating armor from cloth found on various humanoids throughout the game. There are some new recipes in Wrath of the Lich King Classic that come along with the increased level cap of professions, from 375 to 450. The most notable reasons one would choose to level Tailoring are for Embroideries, Bags, and the new Magical Flying Mounts. There are also a select few armor pieces that are very strong or even Best in Slot for some classes.
Tailoring doesn’t require any other gathering profession to level up. All the required materials can be obtained from slain monsters and some supplementary materials are purchased from Trades Vendors. However, most players choose to level Enchanting alongside Tailoring. Many of the items crafted by Tailors can be disenchanted to provide additional materials that Tailors and Enchanters can use in other recipes.
Due to the nature of the random chance with some recipes, sometimes we have to use the «approximately» symbol (~) often to show the average amount of crafts and materials needed.
