A viewer has set up a GoFundMe page for Worst Roommate Ever victim Sonia Acevedo. Following the success of Netflix's The Tinder Swindler which was released on February 2, the streaming service is back again this month with another true-crime documentary, Worst Roommate Ever. Produced by Blumhouse Television and released on March 1, the docuseries covers four separate stories about the worst housemates imaginable, ranging from serial killer Dorothea Puente to serial squatter Jamison Bachman a.k.a Jed Creek. The show's two-part finale highlights Bachman's crimes against numerous roommates and landlords.
The docuseries presents three victims of Bachman's serial squatting – Alex Miller, Arleen Hairabedian, and Sonia Acevedo – though the last of which bore the brunt of his misdeeds, both physically and financially. Acevedo rented a room out to Bachman in 2012 and in the docuseries, she alleges that he would frequently assault her, at times having to bar the door with a chair out of sheer terror. Bachman was also a convincing con man who would pretend to be a wealthy lawyer to charm roommates and landlords into giving him a place to stay, only to later turn violent and refuse to pay.

Now, a Worst Roommate Ever viewer has set up a GoFundMe page to help out a victim of Bachman's crimes, Acevedo. The fundraising campaign was started by fan Imelda Jimenez, who created the page with a goal of $100,000. At the time of writing, the GoFundMe has raised almost $5,000, though it still has a long way to go to reach its goal. The purpose of the fundraiser is to help Acevedo pay for her monthly bills, food, missed rent, and allow her to finally retire.
