Mark Long of Worst Cooks In America Celebrity Edition: That's So 90's is best known for competing on The Challenge, but he says that cooking made him more nervous than any of the daredevil stunts he has performed in the past. In 1995, Mark, who is now 50-years-old, starred in the first season of MTV's reality show Road Rules. He went on to become an MTV legend, appearing in and winning several MTV reality competition shows. Most recently, Mark created the show, The Challenge: All-Stars, which premiered in 2021, and brought back veterans from 38 seasons of The Challenge. Season 3 is set to premiere in May 2022 on Paramount+.
For the first Worst Cooks challenge, Mark and the other contestants had to cook a potluck dish for the mentors, Anne Burrell and Jeff Mauro. When Anne visited Mark's station to speak to him about his dish, he got so nervous that he held the knife upside down and cut his finger. However, the popular Challenge star's «pepperoni pizza gnocchi bake spectacular» impressed Anne enough that she invited him to be on her Rockin' Red Stars team. Mark then did so well in the main dish challenge, during which Anne's team made elevated versions of Salisbury steak TV dinners, that he won the competition for the Red Team.

Even though Mark did well in the first two Worst Cooks challenges, he admitted in an interview with EW that although he has jumped out of airplanes, raced cars, and has done «so many crazy, wild things that other people fear» during The Challenge, he «had never been so nervous going into this show and having to cook every day.» Mark explained that normally he does not cook, but instead goes to Chipotle.
