World of Warcraft Classic has been allowing old school WoW players the ability to relive their adventures from two decades ago since its launch in 2019. Recently, World of Warcraft players discovered the logo for the Wrath of the Lich King expansion in a recent Season of Mastery patch for Classic, hinting the expansion may be on its way to the retro servers.
The logo itself was found in data alongside the Public Test Realm data for the Classic era servers. While players expected World of Warcraft to launch Wrath of the Lich King Classic eventually, this discovery has dispelled any lingering doubts.

The Wrath of the Lich King logo was discovered just weeks after Blizzard sent a survey to its community inquiring about the frigid expansion, and how likely they would be to play it. The survey also asked about faction balance in play, leading some to wonder if World of Warcraft might add the cross-faction play coming in Patch 9.2.5 to the Classic servers as well.
World of Warcraft is preparing to announce its ninth expansion pack on April 19th. Many players believe Blizzard may announce Wrath of the Lich King Classic in tandem with the expansion announcement. It has been less than a year since Burning Crusade Classic was released, and there was a 2-year gap between it and WoW Classic.
