With Blizzard having revealed its World of Warcraft 2024 roadmap, they included the windows for the upcoming releases of The War Within and Cataclysm Classic. With that, they’re already opening up signups for beta testing the most infamous expansion.
Cataclysm Classic is expected sometime in the summer, with a pre-patch event and additions looking places on the spring-summer border. On their roadmap, Blizzard put the beta somewhere between winter and spring, so opening up signups now, just before the new year, still makes sense.
Now, of course, it’s going to be interesting to see just how Blizzard goes ahead both preserving and adjusting Cataclysm Classic. Many will say that Cataclysm’s release was the seed that led to Classic, and there’s truth to much of that. With each release of older expansions for World of Warcraft Classic since its release, there have been changes, new features, and improvements. That won’t stop now.
On the beta announcement page, it says:
“Players can tackle this milestone expansion again with new quality-of-life changes, including a faster content cadence, improved leveling experience, expanded Collections UI, and more!”
Improvements sound good, but we'll need details. More will be known once the beta begins and the team starts rolling out previews of what’s new and what we can dive back into like it’s 2010 again.
You can find the signup page here at World of Warcraft .
