Wordle Multiplayer Game Claims to Feature 100 Players Per Lobby
Wordle took the world by storm when it launched, providing players with a mind teaser everyday. Though some things have changed since Wordle was acquired by the New York Times, it still remains a player favorite with fans revisiting it daily.
Of course, there are those who just can't get enough of the Wordle formula, and thus a number of clone games have popped up in its wake. Most are thematic, letting players guess words from specific forms of media or popular topics, like a Wordle for Fortnite. However, one is providing a much bigger experience, with the potential for up to 100 players at any given time.

The original Wordle is a solo experience, limiting players to sharing their scores with other players as the only form of interactivity. However, the Wordle clone Mordle combines the Wordle puzzle formula with multiplayer functionality, allowing any player to face up to 99 opponents in a lobby. Players can choose between joining a lobby with random players, or they can enter a private password-protected lobby to just compete against friends. In either case, the basic goal is essentially the same, tasking players with guessing a word in six tries, with every correct word being five letters long.
However, with Mordle, players also see a leaderboard showing everyone else's progress as they make their Wordle guesses. As other players correctly guess the word or strike out, hitting a game over, those statistics are shown on the screen. Players are also alerted to how many competitors they beat to the correct answer, if they get it right themselves.
