According to a new report, the Assassin's Creed VR game will feature several beloved Assassins as playable characters, including the likes of Ezio Auditore da Firenze and Kassandra. Rumors about an Assassin's Creed VR title initially surfaced in the summer of 2019, with Facebook allegedly inking a deal with Ubisoft for AC and Splinter Cell experiences on Oculus. The two companies confirmed as much in 2020, promising to deliver exciting adventures with developers Red Storm and Ubisoft Reflections at the helm. Details about these projects have remained scarce in the years since then.
Ubisoft has dabbled in its fair share of virtual reality-centric experiences in recent years. In 2020, for instance, the publisher unleashed Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time, a VR escape room that fans can explore in various countries around the world. The French company partnered with Zero Latency VR last year to produce Far Cry VR: Dive Into Insanity, which offers an immersive adventure set within Far Cry 3's Rook Islands. And, yes, the Far Cry 3 VR game even features an appearance by fan-favorite villain Vaas Montenegro. Apparently, Ubisoft has big plans for Assassin's Creed's VR outing on Oculus, too.

Industry insider Tom Henderson penned a report on eXputer about the Assassin's Creed VR game, which, according to Henderson's sources, will bear the title of Assassin's Creed Nexus. Supposedly, Nexus' development team plans to place users in the role of several playable characters, including Ezio, Kassandra, Connor, and Haytham Kenway.
