Popular word puzzle game Wordle is set to become a form of entertainment you can enjoy with others later this year courtesy of Hasbro.
Wordle owner The New York Times partnered with the Hasbro to create a board game called Wordle: The Party Game for up to four players. It will replace the solitary experience of racking your brains trying to remember five-letter words with a room of friends and family staring at you hoping you can't think of any.
This social, analog version of the game sees players take turns being the "Wordle Host" and writing down a five-letter secret word. The other players then compete to guess what the word is in the fewest attempts. There's also three variations of the main Worlde game included called Fast, Timed, and Team modes.
Everything you need to play is in the box, including three dry-erase markers, Wordle grid cards for writing your guesses down, yellow and green blocks to identify which letters you got right and in the correct position, privacy cards, and a card for writing down the secret word. There's already a website(Opens in a new window) for the board game and pre-orders are live(Opens in a new window). Hasbro expects to start shipping Wordle: The Party Game on Oct. 1 for $19.99.
