While Wonder Woman is thousands of years old and undoubtedly a primary source when it comes to historical events, it is precisely for that reason why she would be an awful history student. Diana is a princess and an Amazon warrior, and as such is part of one of the most ancient documented societies on Earth (ancient Greece). Nevertheless, Sensational Wonder Woman Special #1 reveals that Diana may know too much history for her own good.
Wonder Woman was created during the ancient Greek society, making her at least two thousand years old. This is the case with most incarnations of the character — famed writer George Perez was an exception as the character was significantly younger — and as such, Diana is perhaps one of the most experienced Earth-born warriors in the world of the DC Universe. She gets the chance to prove that knowledge when the villain Circe swaps Wonder Woman's mind with that of a young civilian she saved. While the civilian must learn to become a hero as Wonder Woman, Diana must go to high school.

A game of dodgeball in gym class ends poorly when Diana takes the game seriously and does everything in her power to win (as seen in Wonder Woman 1984). She soon learns that most students simply use the period as a way to relax before the real challenge begins: history class. The teacher is giving a lecture on the Battle of Marathon, in which the Greek army prevailed while led by the Athenian general Miltiades. Wonder Woman is dismissive: «Miltiades...that man drank too much to command effectively.» The teacher is understandably annoyed and wants to continue teaching
